Persica’s book is already a case: almost sold out two days after its release.

Critical acclaim and huge audiences yesterday, Friday, January 29, at the library LaFeltrinelli in Rome for the presentation of the book “Anna Magnani. Biography of a Woman” by Matteo Persica (Odoya Editions).

Friday, January 29, at 6:00 pm, a large audience, who came from all regions, have literally filled the space at Feltrinelli Galleria Alberto Sordi. The passion and commitment that the young writer Matteo Persica took over the past eight years to complete the book “Anna Magnani. Biography of a woman“, have been rewarded by the esteem and affection of everyone present. “Now I will continue to fight so that all this can be continued,” says the author. “Meanwhile, I enjoy the moment and I thank the people who supported me in the past eight years.

Greeted by press office Francesca Piggianelli, Matteo invited the actors Alessandro Parrello (director of this magazine) Claretta Carotenuto Maria Loana Gloriani, Francesca Stajano, Amin Nour, Alessio Di Cosimo Valentina Perrella, to read some abstracts from the biography. The evening was enriched also with other big names like: Lidia Vitale, Marina Pennafina, Antonello Sarno, Simona Fasulo (March 8 will be broadcast on Rai Storia his documentary on Anna Magnani!), Carla Vistarini, Catena Fiorello, Sergio Nicolai, Osvaldo Desideri, Alessio Ciaffardoni, Sarah Falanga Francesco Ruscio, Massimo Forleo, Rosario Tronnolone.

The book is published on the occasion of the celebrations for the Oscar won by Anna Magnani sixty years ago, in 1956, for her portrayal of Serafina Delle Rose in the movie “The Rose Tattoo” by Daniel Mann. For the same role, the actress also won a BAFTA as international actress of the year and the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Drama. Anna is the first Italian actress to win the coveted prize and still the only one to have won it for her performance in an American film, in English language.
In addition, it was mentioned the Third Edition of the “Anna Magnani Award” to be held March 21 at the House of Cinema in Rome, in collaboration with Cinecittà Luce and the Film Board of MIBACT. The winner of this year is  Italian superstar Valeria Golino.
