CONI honors the best Italian Athletes
2015 was a great year for Italian sport that has achieved important results at international level. Yesterday morning, it was held in Rome the ceremony of the Gold Collar award, with the presence of Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, the President of CONI Giovanni Malago and the President of the Paralympic Committee Luca Pancalli. The golden collar for sporting merit is the highest honor that awards those Italian athletes whom stood out for results and ethics and can be granted only once during the sporting career. Who was awarded of the gold collar, cannot receive a lower grade honors. In addition to the best athletes of 2015, were also awarded Olympic athletes whom, before 1995, did not receive this recognition.

Matteo Castaldo, Marco Di Costanzo, Matteo Lodo, Giuseppe Near (rowing 4 without), Fabio Aru (cycling), Frank Chamizo (fight), Kiara Fontanesi (motorcycling), Gregory Paltrinieri (swimming), Emiliano Marsili (boxing), Rossella Fiamingo (fencing), Giorgio Avola, Andrea Baldini, Andrea Cassara, Daniele Garozzo (fencing), Arianna Fontana (the sport of Ice), Roland Fischnaller and Luca Matteotti (snowboard), Simone Bolelli, Fabio Fognini (Australian Open), Flavia Pennetta (Us open), Giulia Conti and Francesca Clapcich (Sailing). Recognition also for Sara Errani, for winning Wimbledon (double) in 2014.
